You must be willing to leave the life you planned in order to find the one waiting for you. —Joseph Campbell
Services
I am trained to provide psychotherapy and psychoanalysis under supervision. We will discuss the treatment option that is in alignment with your needs and goals.
In my experience, therapy works best when it is consistent and regular. Psychotherapy sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes once a week, or more frequently, based on client and clinician agreement. Deep and lasting change can take time. We will work together to determine our therapeutic focus, frequency, and duration of work, sensitive to your unique needs and goals for therapy.
I support clients navigating a variety of life issues including:
anxiety
depression
chronic pain/ illness
grief and loss
trauma (past or present)
vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue
relationship difficulties
identity development (including sexual orientation, gender, race, cultural identity, ability/disability)
life transitions
Psychotherapy is a form of treatment which seeks to help the patient to make sense of their thoughts, behaviors, and experiences, past and present, in order to find meaning in their symptoms and greater freedom for development and change. The focus of treatment is usually on symptom relief. Meetings are usually 1-2 times per week.
Psychoanalysis is an intensive form of psychotherapy which seeks to go beyond symptom relief and toward resolving stuck places which constrict the patient’s ability to live freely and creatively. It is an optimal form of treatment for individuals who suffer entrenched emotional difficulties which have not responded to shorter term or less intensive forms of talk therapy. Psychoanalysis is a unique committed working relationship between patient and analyst which makes use of the present moment and the unconscious as the grounds for powerful self-understanding. Meetings are usually 3-4 times per week.
Together, we will discuss various treatment options and identify a form of treatment that best fits your needs.
Clients of all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and faiths are warmly welcome.
